Pimp My Chair is a unique collection for the VitraHaus by Tobias Brunner, focused on creating a range of accessories for chairs that empower users to personalise and make them their own. • The project is rooted in the belief that design classics can be made more relevant and personal to our lives by exploring new ways to interact with them. • The collection of accessories includes a clip-on side table, a magnetic USB extension, a spray-painting stencil and a metal extension for hanging clothes and other items. Each accessory is created to enhance the functionality of each iconic chair while allowing users to explore and remix the design in their own way. • This project aims to foster a more creative and participatory approach to design, emphasising the user’s role as a co-creator. By providing a range of tools and accessories, Pimp My Chair encourages users to engage with design classics in a dynamic and iterative process of exploration and experimentation, resulting in a more personal and meaningful connection between users and design classics.
