Lilla Wicki is a fashion and textile designer with many interests and a broad scope of work. With the intention of promoting a broader understanding of what constitutes an interconnected design practice today, she is showcasing a pluralistic mix of independent initiatives, community building, educational outreach, and commissioned pieces at the Swiss Design Awards exhibition. Her professional journey started at Central Saint Martins in London with a degree in Fashion Design Women’s Wear, followed by a decade-long working stint in Paris and New York. On a personal quest for more sustainable textile futures, Lilla Wicki now works as an independent designer based in Zurich, where reflection, collaboration and conscious creation are at the heart of everything she does – like running her fashion consultancy studio Monochrome, building up the design hub Maison Shift, teaching at various institutions or creating a growing line of accessories made of artfully crafted vintage textiles.
