An environment with natural elements positively influences people’s health and well-being. That is what Biophilic Design is about. Xiaoqun Wu and Oliver Hischier from Bienvenue Studios explore natural phenomena from the perspective of their different cultures. They aim to bring a piece of nature into everyday life by showcasing its intricate beauty. • They first start by exploring the origins and cultural significance of natural phenomena. Then, in the second step, they depict the results of their research with an abstract visual language to give them a narrative dimension. As different as the topics and methods are, however, the results always have a comparable feel that one can describe as contemplative, poetic and slightly surreal. • Leveraging this visual language, Bienvenue Studios develops a variety of self-initiated print series and products as well as commissioned work in graphic design.
