Vicus emerged in 2017 when Marco Lazzaroni transitioned from his corporate job to pursue his new-found passion for leather craftsmanship. Despite lacking formal training, he dedicated himself to mastering the art of handcrafting, investing time in learning skills, materials and tools.

The primary goal was, and still is, to revive Swiss-made craftsmanship, overshadowed by widespread delocalisation. Moreover, Vicus strives to provide customers with an alternative to the fast-fashion industry. Choosing to craft unique, handmade leather goods without reliance on industrial machinery was a conscious decision. Marco Lazzaroni aimed to contribute to sustainability, opting exclusively for vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany. This material is certified by a consortium for its quality and excellence.

Specialising in leather bags and backpacks, Vicus aims to elevate customers’ style, making them feel unique and sophisticated. Moreover, the brand seeks to inform customers that they are making a responsible decision.
