Bear Sleep is a children’s book about epilepsy for affected children aged 2 to 5 as well as their siblings, friends, preschool classmates, parents and caregivers. The book fills a need, as the few picture books on the subject are aimed at older or neurotypical children.

The story tells about a grand mal seizure, the medication or an EEG check in simple language.
Affected children can see themselves in the main character and take courage from the strength shown in the story.

Furthermore, epilepsy is not portrayed as gloomy and threatening, but as an integral part of life. The brightly coloured pencil drawings convey a colourful mood that can also have an encouraging and uplifting effect.

In order to create the story, the illustrator contacted various experts in the fields of neurology, speech therapy and psychotherapy.

The book is currently looking for a publisher.
