The website correspondances.ch presents a selection of 20th-century architectural postcards, taken from the collection of photographer Serge Fruehauf.
Nicolas Robel took care of the art direction, conceived the database and designed the website.
Very high-quality digitisation and meticulous work on the files (colour correction, dust etc.) made it possible to achieve an optimal reproduction of the postcards.
In-depth research work on the buildings represented was carried out.
Of the 30,000 cards in the collection today, more than 6,700 have been reproduced and indexed. This represents 2,231 architects, 1,524 publishers, 802 photographers, 2,458 cities, 539 keywords and 125 countries. These figures give the measure of the challenge that the site correspondances.ch responds to.
The CORRESPONDANCES association, founded in 2022, aims to promote and transmit knowledge relating to 20th-century architecture in connection with the postcard medium.
