The collection Behind Curtains emerges from a profound reflection on virility, its glorification and its fetishisation. Taking male striptease—a practice that subverts norms by positioning the male body as an object of desire—as a starting point, it simultaneously perpetuates and amplifies gendered domination through the roles performed, the choreography, the movements and the interactions with the audience.
The five looks draw inspiration from virile stereotypes such as the biker, the soldier and the lumberjack, figures often caricatured in male striptease. These archetypes are softened by elements borrowed from female striptease and burlesque. By reversing the male gaze, this collection underscores the performative and artificial nature of virility, whether on stage or in everyday life.
